Updated list of ALC7 Donors

Thanks everyone. Here’s an updated list of donors to the AIDS/Lifecycle 7 ride! I’m overwhelmed with the support that I’ve gotten for the ride in both sponsorships and in spiritual well wishes. All of it means a ton to me!

At this point in the fundraising campaign, I feel I need to acknowledge some major contributors to the ride. They have all donated at least $100 for AIDS/Lifecycle. These are:

  • Xilinx
  • Kyle and Lynda of EuroTan in San Luis Obispo
  • Deborah Jensen
  • Judith Coching
  • Gladys Wong
  • Socrates Calizo
  • Brian Yap and Family
  • Wirehead (aka Ken Wronkiewicz) – artist and fellow photo geek from SV Flickr
  • Mom and Dad

There are others who have been extremely gracious with their donations. These folks are

  • Collette Parks from Regina, Canada
  • Perry Rivera – an old college friend
  • Monica Burkner – an old college friend
  • John Caharian – my cuz
  • Doug Dean of Xilinx
  • Robert Sturm of Xilinx
  • Don Kludt from Xilinx
  • Uncle Joel
  • Lillian Scoyen – member of the Silicon Valley Concierge Association
  • Travis Harrison – fellow photo geek from SV Flickr
  • Sheila Braverman – my cousin
  • Atelier Pictures in Atascadero, California
  • Sal Randazzo of Xilinx
  • Auntie Neneng
  • Lynette Solanoy

ALC7 – I’m ready to ride!

You all have helped me reach my minimum pledge goal of $2500 in order to ride in AIDS/Lifecycle 7! Thanks everyone. As in the past, my family has helped me cross the finishline!

I’ll continue to update you on my training with a little over 2 and a half weeks to go to the big event. When possible, I’ll be posting updates via iPhone. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to charge it along the way — maybe one of those battery packs…

Anyways, love to all, and thank you for making my fundraising as successful as it has been. I couldn’t have done it without your help!

Near Century at The Lodi Sunrise Century

Just found out it’s going to be close to 100 degrees this weekend for the Lodi Century!

$130 to reach my goal

Wow! After an incredible amount of really generous donations, and putting in some cash donations I’ve recieved — I only need $130 to reach my goal! Thanks everyone!

Long ride turns to short ride…

Today I was going to make it down to Mission San Juan Bautista from my home — about 110 miles round trip. Then I realized I hadn’t picked up an Mother’s Day present for my wife. I rode down to Gilroy where my parents were going to meet up with me after the first leg of the ride, and ended up going shopping. I ended up doing 32-miles today, instead of the 110. I’m going to try this ride sometime this week if possible, along with commuting to work from this point on. Not sure how I’m going to handle lugging the notebook around though. It’s more annoying than anything else. The commute one-way is a short 12-miles, so it’s not such a big deal.

The AIDS/Lifecycle 7 Route – as of now…

AIDS/Lifecycle 7 Route

Well folks, this is it, the route I’ll be taking for ALC 7!

I’m signed up for the Lodi Sunrise Century

Okay — I just did it. I’m registered for the Loda Sunrise Century set for May 17… this will be my first century ride and officially the longest ride I will have taken at this point.

3 weeks to the big ride

Wow — I can’t believe how quickly time is going by. In about 3 weeks, I start what is probably going to be one of the biggest personal challenges I’ve ever done… AIDS/Lifecycle 7. I’m a little nervous, but mostly excited! I’ve had so much support from friends, family and total strangers that it’s changed my outlook to life in a big way.

Thanks to everyone at this point in fundraising for supporting me. For those that haven’t, it’s not too late. Online donations will be taken up until a few days until the ride. If you plan on making a donation by check, please mail them to me — check donations may not be processed in time for the donation to count. If they’re mailed to me with the donation form, you will still get your tax credit, and I will still get credit for your donation. The only difference is that I will be walking the donation to the registration office to meet the minimum donation of $2500.

At this point in the fundraising campaign, I feel I need to acknowledge some major contributors to the ride. They have all donated at least $100 for AIDS/Lifecycle. These include:

  • Xilinx
  • Kyle and Lynda of EuroTan in San Luis Obispo
  • Deborah Jensen
  • Judith Coching
  • Gladys Wong
  • Socrates Calizo

It’s not too late to be part of this inner circle!

There are others who have been extremely gracious with their donations. These folks are

  • Collette Parks from Regina, Canada
  • Perry Rivera – an old college friend
  • Monica Burkner – an old college friend
  • John Caharian – my cuz
  • Doug Dean of Xilinx
  • Robert Sturm of Xilinx
  • Don Kludt from Xilinx
  • Uncle Joel
  • Lillian Scoyen – member of the Silicon Valley Concierge Association
  • Travis Harrison – fellow photo geek from SV Flickr
  • Sheila Braverman – my cousin
  • Atelier Pictures in Atascadero, California
  • Sal Randazzo of Xilinx
  • Auntie Neneng

Thank you everyone so far for making this effort as successful as it has been so far! Unfortunately there’s still a small gap :(

It’s not too late to help close the gap and make this fundraiser a success! You can still make an online donation to help me reach the $2500 goal! Visit http://www.aidslifecycle.org/donate/1545 to make your donation today!

Migration to WordPress successful

Okay, I think all the kinks have been worked out. I just need to migrate some stuff over from the old site. While I liked RapidWeaver, being a Mac-based app had it’s problems, like when I’m using my PC. I’ll probably start implementing web applications from this point on as functionality now is less a question of platform, but more a question of platform-less accessibility.

Some important updates are (these are more for me than for you):

  • The Twitter box
  • Updated Google Analytics code
  • General layout tweaks

I’ll be experimenting a bit with the themes at a later date (like after the AIDS/Lifecycle ride), for now, I found a nice clean one that I liked last night.

Let me know what you think!

Lodi Sunrise Century Bike Ride

I’m going to be doing the Lodi Century with my sister and my cousin. I’m excited! It will be my first century — based on the topo I’ve looked at, it looks like it’s mostly flat. While ALC7 is full of hills, this is a good reason to push me further in distance.
